Frequently Asked Questions

  • Grand Vue Adventures is located near Moundsville, West Virginia, within Grand Vue Park. Wheeling, West Virginia is just a 20-minute drive down the road, alongside the Ohio River. We are 70 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 150 miles from Cleveland, Ohio, and 140 miles from Columbus, Ohio. Get directions and come see us!
  • We have activities for guests of nearly all ages. Participant Requirements are based primarily on weight, with activities available for participants that weigh 30 pounds or more. These youngest children can enjoy our Bounce & Climb Ticket while those who weigh 45 pounds or more are able to book our Basecamp Adventures Ticket. Participants who weigh 70 pounds or more are about to book our Zipline Tours or our Big Zipline Ride. For adults, weight requirements along with being in good health and ready for an active adventure experience are the biggest considerations. We welcome people of (nearly) all ages and skill levels daily!
  • Our online booking system is the best – and easiest – way to book your tickets at Grand Vue Adventures. If you have questions, feel free to contact us. On most weekends and some weekdays when we are open, we are able to offer a limited number of “walk up” bookings to people who inquire, though these are on a space-available basis only. To be sure you have an adventure time, it’s always best to book ahead online.
  • Our operating season is May through October. Days of operations vary on time of year. Reservations are highly recommended, while walk-up bookings are permitted on a space-available basis. On days when groups are actively in the park, additional availability may exist outside of the days/hours posted above. Check our online reservation system for currently available dates and times.
  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required for all adventures. Tennis shoes with a hard/less-flexible bottom will be most comfortable as you traverse elements made of cables, steel, wood, etc.
  • Long hair should be tied back, and waists and thighs should be covered for your comfort while wearing a harness.
  • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for an outdoor adventure, and for the weather.
We operate rain or shine and recommend dressing for the weather. Layers are great! The Grand Vue Management Team decides if we cancel due to lightning or extreme weather, and will work to reschedule you or issue you a rain check. Guests are permitted to call 48 hours or more in advance of their reservation date and request gift card compensation or move their reservation to a different date in the event of an unfavorable forecast. Within 48 hours of your adventure/reservation start time, all reservations are considered FINAL.

We recommend that you do not keep anything in your pockets while on course, as the harnesses tend to push things out. If you do wish to take your phone/personal items with you, we recommend they be in a zipped pocket or attached to a lanyard (which you can purchase at the front desk!) Everything you take on course is at your own risk, as items may become lost or broken.

Have a GoPro? We have the helmet mount! If you have the attachment piece, just ask your guide for a helmet with a GoPro mount. Mounts are available first-come first-serve. You can also welcome to wear the chest mount over your harness.

We provide all the gear you need! We do not allow participants to bring their own gear, as we inspect and track use of all our equipment. The exception is if you wish to bring your own gloves. Any personal gloves for use on course must be approved by the shift lead.
